From The Omega listserve -- two interesting and chock-full web sites that will give you somethingto do for a while. John Bollinger's website - http://www.equitytrader.com - {to come back to this page from the Equity Trader site, click on Member Contributions in the left frame} provides various indicators for industries and sectors as well as the companies that make up thegroups. He publishes a daily report on industry price momentum as well. Also - http://www.stockcharts.com - has a tool for looking at sector/industry relative strength over a variable time period and a "free" report.

Linda Raschke was our April 2000 speaker and for those whohave further interest, her web
site
http://www.mrci.com/lbr/index.htm contains much information about Linda and the way she trades.

Linda sent us an article,
"Trading as a Performance Sport," by Brett Steenbarger that's worth reading.

Linda invites the general public to try out (for free) the
LBRChat room on the first of each month.

From John Estep - At the December SMT meeting of the Stocks Group, one of the participants mentioned he had filed "professional trader" status with the IRS. This comment elicited several questionsand a statement of desire to cover this topic in more detail at a future meeting. He did a websearch and foundtwo websites that are a starting point for obtaining more information - http://www.daytradertax.com and http://www.traderstatus.com.He has no idea how many members have chosen this status but suspect that several have not and perhaps would qualifyand benefit from filing for this status.

John has also put the slides from his Swing Trading presentation at the Jan. 2002 SMT meeting online at
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jestepva/Presentation.html.

------------------------------------------------------------

Dennis Kranyak has a very useful web site at www.unrulydog.com. If you missed his presentation at January's meeting, or attended but did not get a copy of hisslides and would like to, he has posted them on his web site. The topic was his methodology for Stock Investing.You can view the slides by going to his web site and accessing the link on the Market Notes & Site News page,listed in the right-hand menu bar. The link is about 2/3's of the way down the page under Site News.

The following comes from Dave Wallace.
...I made a few improvements to last month's STARC channel plot for Quotes Plus. I fixed the channel width indicator that appears at the bottom of the plot. This shows a maximum when the channel width is at a minimum -- often when the stock is making a change in direction. Can you include the
attached JPG file in the September meeting notice and let Quotes-Plus users know that they can get a copy of the Excel 97 spreadsheet from me at: semdmw@concentric.net?

Curious URLs:

Attention commodity traders. If trading is not keeping you busy enough, check out these sites:

...CornCam presents fresh imagesevery 15 minutes from a cornfield near Prairieburg, Iowa. Viewers can check regularly to see how much the crop grows from whenit's planted in April through when it's havested in late October. (It is not quite as high as an elephant's eye.)

It also shows latest growing and weather statistics. If that still doesn't keep you busy, you can also check out SoybeanCam (growth periodsame as the CornCam) and the DairyCam with milking hours every day at 4:30 AM and 4 PM CST, lasting about3 hours each.

{
NOTE: If using Netscape, then on return from the Corn and Soybean cam sites you'll be back on the meeting page. If using Internet Explorer you can't use the back button to return; either show the list of addresses and then click on www.markettechnicians.org or type it in.}
